Marlee J Ehrenfeld is an acclaimed chief creative officer who specializes in brand development and brand engagement strategies. Her work has been featured in international design publications and, in 2014, she was awarded Agency Professional of the Year by the San Diego Ad Club (SDX) and awarded the Eva Irving Community Service Award by the Public Relations Society of America. With a creative discipline in writing, photography and film, Ehrenfeld has won 14 regional Emmy® Awards and 53 national Telly Awards for her documentary and commercial work. She has also led the agency’s team of designers, writers, programmers and producers in the development and implementation of results-producing campaigns for a diverse clientele, from UC San Diego and the San Diego International Auto Show to San Diego Cruise, the Maritime Museum and the San Diego Bowl Games.

During the past 22 years, Ehrenfeld and her agency have helped mold, refine and elevate the identities of some of the biggest brand names in San Diego. Among them: San Diego Unified Port District, San Diego International Airport, San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Tourism Marketing District, City of San Diego (Think Blue), County First 5 programs and NASSCO. Her national work includes developing integrated marketing programs for public companies such as XEROX, UPS, Qualcomm and Novell.

Prior to founding MJE Marketing, Ehrenfeld was a marketing vice president and a corporate spokesperson for Fortune 500 companies in the financial and technology industries. She handled high profile media and managed crises communications during the S&L and banking crisis; San Diego Airport site selection and the state budget threat to San Diego County funding. She was a writer for The San Diego Union-Tribune.

As a second generation San Diegan, Ehrenfeld and her team have honed a depth of knowledge and expertise in branding cities and public agencies throughout the region, including San Diego County Parks & Recreation, City of Chula Vista, City of La Mesa, and SANDAG projects including San Diego Forward and Rapid MTS. She is currently on the board of the San Diego Bowl Games Association and a member of San Diego Rotary.

Ehrenfeld holds a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism and Telecommunications and Film from San Diego State University. She has certifications in Financial Analysis and Accounting courses and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie School of Management. She was trained in brand strategies by brand marketing expert Al Ries co-author of the defining books on branding: The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding; Positioning the Battle for Your Mind; and Marketing Warfare. She is a certified facilitator through the International Association of Facilitators.
